Finding Forever in a Single Moment

I still remember the exact moment.

The sun winding down, a light breeze wafting between the homes in this quiet Santa Clara suburb.

There she is walking directly towards me in her tailored pink dress down the drive of her apartment complex.

The flat two-dimensional image of her in my mind was suddenly replaced with the vivid silhouette before me.

As she gets closer and closer I can hear the rhythmic sound of solid clacking that only the fanciest of stilettos can make. With every step, a sense of impending excitement builds in my loins. My racing pulse pumping with such vigor that my ears can hear each beat of my heart.

I catch myself and take a deep breath in an attempt to compose myself. I am unable to contain my excitement and let my smile gleam as I receive her. I hold out my arm and she takes it as an expected surprise with a smile to match.

I walk her across the street and gently open my passenger door. She gracefully enters and places herself in the passenger seat with the grace and class of a royal bloodline.

This was what I had been waiting for my entire life.

My mind was finally catching up to what the rest of my body already knew.

I was already in love…

To the woman I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with…

And I hadn’t even started the car.
